Clive Addy served for 35 years in the Canadian Forces. Among his many posts, he was Commander of the Cdn Brigade in Germany, the Deputy Chief of Staff (Ops) at Central Army Group in Heidelberg, Chief of Staff of Mobile Command, and Commander of Land Forces in Western Canada. Retiring in 1996, he helped draft an audit of Emergency Preparedness for British Columbia. He then became the National Executive Secretary of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He is the past National Vice Chair of the CDA, and the past National Chair of the Federation of Military and United Services Institutes of Canada. He is the founding Chair of the National Security Group, and held the post of Executive Editor of FrontLine Security until October 2014.

A graduate of the Royal Military College, Peter Avis served on a number of frigates and destroyers, was appointed Executive Officer of HMCS Ville de Quebec and the elite Sea Training Unit, and was Commanding Officer of HMCS Fredericton. He served as the Operations Officer for the Chief of the Maritime Staff during Operation APOLLO, and as senior policy advisor for Transportation Security and Emergency Management in the Security and Intelligence Secretariat in the PCO. He authored a book (Comparing National Security Approaches to Maritime Security in the Post-9/11 Era). He worked for General Hillier as Director-General Requirements on the Strategic Joint Staff at NDHQ. To end his military career, he served as Commander of the Fourth Maritime Operations Group in Victoria and concurrently acted as Chief of Staff for the Board of Inquiry on Detainees in Afghanistan. Retired in the summer of 2008, Peter joined Lansdowne Technologies as a Senior Consultant in the National Security and Emergency Management division.

A lawyer by profession, Don Blakely has been involved in Ground Search and Rescue since 1987. As a Manager with Vernon SAR in BC, Don has responded to hundreds emergencies including floods and urban wildfires. He is a founding member and currently a Director of the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada and of the BC SAR Association. Don was responsible for the creation of the National GSAR Liability Insurance program and is a co-author of British Columbia's SAR Strategic Plan. A Lead Instructor with the SAR Program at the Justice Institute of BC, Don has participated in the development and continued evolution of BC's SAR training standards and management programs. He is a regular presenter at Canada's national SARSCENE conference. Don was BC's 1999 SAR Volunteer of the Year and was also the executive producer/program manager for a SAR training film for the JIBC's GSTL program.

He is a hazardous materials specialist, an adjunct instructor for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, and a former member of the NFPA committee on hazardous materials protective clothing. He began his career in hazardous materials response in 1982 as a member of the Newport News (VA) Fire Department hazmat team. Brigadier-General Holt joined the Canadian Army (Regular) in 1966. A graduate of CMR and and RMC as a Mechanical Engineer, he served in a number of appointments with 2 Service Battalion Petawawa, 1 RCR London and 4 Service Battalion Lahr, Germany, and later assigned to the original Leopard Tank Project in Germany. Completing a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1981, he was posted to a Project Mgmt job in Ottawa and later attended Staff College in Toronto. Promoted LCol in 1986, he served the Air Force as Senior Staff Officer Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. In July 1989, he returned to Germany to command the Base Technical Services Branch. He served the next four years in NDHQ in the Military Personnel Group before moving to the Materiel Group as Project Mgr of the LAV Project. Subsequently, he was appointed Director Land Equipment Resources Management and EME Branch Advisor in August 2001. He was inducted into the Order of Military Merit in the grade of Officer in May 2002. In 2002 he was promoted Brigadier-General and appointed Director General Land Equipment Program Management (DGLEPM) responsible for the acquisition, mgmt and disposal of all land equipment for the Canadian Forces. He retired in 2005, and was appointed EME Col Comdt in 2008.

Jack joined the Canadian Forces’ 2nd Battalion Black Watch but left to join the RCMP after two years. He served in British Columbia and Ontario before transferring to the Northwest Territories’ G Division in 1982. In 1992 he served on the UN Mission in former Yugoslavia and returned to G Division in 1993. His passion was search and rescue, and he was instrumental in growing the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Arctic District from the original two units serving the North (Yellowknife and Hay River), to the current 11 units (adding Inuvik, Fort Chipewyan, Fort McMurray, Cambridge Bay, Rankin Inlet, Pangnirtung, Kugluktuk, Tuktoyaktuk and Aklavik). His career began in the CBSA, and in 1993 was appointed Regional Immigration Control Officer accredited to 13 countries. After many major contributions and promotions he was soon recognized for establishing innovative intelligence reporting and counter trafficking programs in Central and Eastern Europe. He is a founding member and since 2003 the Executive Director of BORDERPOL?, a global body of security and migration experts, distinguished diplomats and recognized academics. He holds a Bachelor?s degree in Public Administration, is married, has two children, three grandchildren and currently resides near Toronto, Ontario.

In 2000, Sean Tracey became the first Regional Manager in Canada for the National Fire Protection Association. He is a past Director of the Canadian Council of Fire Marshals and Fire Commissioners and from 2005 to 2010 served as the Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness. Sean is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Kingston with a Civil Engineering Degree. He is a certified Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. Blair Watson graduated from the Seneca College Aviation and Flight Technology program in 1989, and subsequently flew aerial survey in several countries. Between 1996 and 2005, he worked in air traffic control training, airport operations and project management, airline instructional design, and technical writing. During the past few years, he has written for Canadian, British, and Australian periodicals about military and homeland security topics. Since 2006, he has covered aviation subjects for magazine publishers and news media companies in Canada, the U.S., and Britain. Sadly, Blair has passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed pulmonary embolism on 3 October 2014. We miss you Blair.

The co-founder of Riptech, a market leading IT security company, he served as its CEO until it was acquired by Symantec in 2002. He served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force in the Department of Defense's Computer Emergency Response Team. Mr. Yoran serves as a commissioner on the CSIS Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency, and numerous other industry advisory bodies.
